Government statistics have revealed that a shocking 22% of Israel's citizens are currently living under the poverty line, with close to 1 million of them being children.
Every day in Israel, hundreds of people are pulled downwards in a spiral of poverty. The present reality makes it difficult if not impossible for the government welfare system to provide a solution to this vast problem. Due to this phenomenon, Afikim shoulders the responsibility of feeding thousands of needy youngsters daily. Young Afikim has been set up in the UK to directly support Afikim and it's mission to feed the children of Israel.
